Abstract

The paper is a study which compares the Figure of Acts as one of the Ten Vehicle Objects and the analytical psychology. The Figure of Acts is a psychological phenomenon which is appeared during meditation and it is the phenomenon which is revealed through meditation after storing in the realm of subconsciousness. It is said as the position of Carl Gustav Jung that virtue and vice are all psychological illusion and they are the definition of opposition to be conscientized artificially. The viewpoint of the Tientai and that of William James are communicated in the point that the idea of object is one of results which is refined through repeat and experience. In the logical development of the Figure of Acts, the continuation of time between the Experieced Cause and Experienced Result & the Retributed Cause and Retributed Result can be understood through the difference of the identity, the rotation of existence and absence and the intervention of observer. The concept of psychologically original form said by Jung is also collective unconsciousness which is close to the sense of shared figure caused by collective acts. There is similarity between the analytical method of the kind of original form through the image of original form and the classification method of causing figures of virtue and vice acts in the Figure of Acts even though the psychologically original form is unable to present itself. The Tientai Zhi Yi tries to solves the Figure of Acts through the Vipassana of the Ten Vehicle and especially emphasizes the observation of the consciousness. This method reminds of the image of psychological concept called ‘persona’. The emphasis of observation of consciousness is similar to something which comprehends the nature of the persona and leads to not being buried in pretentious oneself.
