전후소설의 재발견-1990년대 전후소설 연구의 조망-

Abstract

This paper aims to inquire into the achievements of 1990s’ Korean literary studies after 1950s. In Korean society the period of 1950s has close relationship with the tragic wound of Korea War in 1950. The reason why the post-war literature appears as a subject for arguments, has a background of the post-modem situation of 1990s, the pervasive reflections on the social change by the master-narrative, and the enough lapse of time of one generation. The achievements of the literary studies for the 1990s' post-war novels can be viewed as sever-ance, continuity, and unification to the logic epistemology. To the view of severance, the research for the fact and the theory turns the former negative attitude to the positive attitude embracing the social reality with the narrative structure, the imagination of negation and subversion, and ideologic abstraction. To the view of continuity, the research is still negative, though tracing the 60s’ and 70s’ novels to the spiritual origin of the Korean novels. To the view of unification, the research proves the comparative superiority of the post-war novels in the aspects which note the change of the old and the new generation as well as the division of south and north Korean culture. One achievement owes for the active arguments about 1990s’ novels. And it overcomes the negative view and tries to dig into the original esthetic structures and values of post-war novels. Nonetheless, it demands the new research models should be developed, and should widen the scope, which has focused on the limited numbers of the writers and the writings.
