Abstract

The paper is to contemplate the novelistic products and limitation of Cotton and Beans by Kwon-hwan that is attached to bolshevistic literary theory. In the first place, bolshevistic literary theory of Kwon-hwan is to target for emancipation of the proletariat by literary works that implies revolutionary and inflammatory idea. Secondly, the story of Cotton and Beans is about struggle between peasant and Japanese agricultural authority for organizing peasant union that is finally organized by mass struggle based on the idea of racial contradiction. And, Cotton and Beans has the limitation of plot by overemphasizing the aiming idea. Fourthly, Kwon-hwan's commandingly stands against the colonial circumstances without surrender. And it produced the actualization of agricultural society's contraction by organizing peasant union. Finally, detailed description of peasant society and colonial agricultural administration and the propound perception of reality were unified by dialectic.
