Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to consider not only result & limitation but also some future direction of studies on Lee Tae-jun's literature. The results are as follows; Even the studies on Lee Tae-jun's literature are generally focused on few works or the short story, the result we have considered is pretty high level already. Moreover many graduates schools producing thesis continually after removal of ban. Because of this, we still see the positive sign in the future studies on Lee Tae-jun's works. Even so, there are some problems in studies on Lee Tae-jun’s literature still. First, we need to study not only his novel, but also all the genre of works in literature he had interested in(such as plays, essays etc), to see his appearance in literary history. Also it needs some comparative studies in other writers or other works. And then his final destination in the Korean literary history will be found. Next, it's about the study of style in his works. To see him as writer, known as a stylist and a esthetical writer, we would need some logical and specific analysis about how his style performed in his works. Also, we shouldn't underestimate his works only because of the changes of society for instance, some great pieces from very before liberation were underestimated only because social realism was magnified after liberation period. We shouldn't make that mistake again because one writer's work should be interpreted by only the literature as a whole. Even his works contain complicated thoughts in quality and quantity, and his life also directly connected to ideology that reflected in his literature, the real aspect of Lee Tae-jun will appear when we figure out those problems above one by one. And this is not impossible anymore.
