이 연구는 듀나 SF에 재현된 소녀를 연구 대상으로 하여 소녀가 어떤 방식으로 포스트휴먼이 되어가는지를 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 첫째, 소녀를 다른 시각에서 바라보게 하는 서술 방식과 그로 탄생한 낯선 소녀의 모습에 주목했다. 듀나 SF는 소녀를 포스트휴먼의 대안으로 내세워 가부장적인 사회가 내재한 욕망과 대립시키고 있다. 순수, 순응, 수동적인 소녀라는 스테레오 타입에서 벗어난 듀나 소설의 낯선 소녀는 성인 남성 중심의 경계를 허물고 도주한다. 둘째, 자신의 세계를 만들고자 하는 소녀의 욕망은 모험과 탐험을 통해 세계의 구성품을 수집하며 실현 가능해진다. 고아와 도주 모티브는 소녀 탐험 서사의 시작점이면서 소녀를 억압했던 가부장 질서의 해체를 가한다. 증강, 변화하는 소녀는 무엇이든 될 수 있는 가능성을 내포한 개체로 진화해 새로운 세계를 만들어 낸다. 셋째, 듀나 SF의 포스트휴먼 소녀는 정신 감응과 팩 결성이라는 독특한 특징을 보인다. 소녀는 인간 비인간과의 조화를 주도하여 포스트휴먼 되기를 실천한다. 소녀팩은 다양한 개체가 정보와 기술을 공유하고 공존한다. 정리하자면 듀나 SF의 소녀는 탐험하고 연대하고 가변적이며 능수능란하기에 포스트휴먼으로 진화할 수 있다.
Abstract
This study examined the process of girls becoming posthumans by using girls appearing in DJUNA SF as the subject of research. First, this study focused on the image of the troubled girl, which breaks away from the typical image of girls. DJUNA SF presents girls as posthumans and contrasts them with the desires inherent in patriarchy. The girls in DJUNA novels break away from stereotypes. The strange girls break down the boundaries centered on adult males and escape. The girls acquire knowledge on their own and survive in a world that has been destroyed without any help. Second, the girls collect elements of the world through adventure and exploration and create new worlds with them. The orphan motif becomes the starting point of the girl’s exploration narrative. The augmented and transformed girls evolve into beings with the potential to become anything. Third, the posthuman girls in DJUNA SF show unique characteristics of telepathy and group formation. The girls practice becoming posthumans through harmony with humans and non-humans. While the state and corporations monopolize future social technologies and reproduce discrimination and violence, the group of girls share information and technology and coexist. In short, the group of girls in DJUNA SF are not confined to the boundaries of the patriarchal world and human-centeredness. The girls are explorative, solidaristic, changeable, and capable, and thus can evolve into posthumans.
