Abstract

Apichatpong spent his childhood in rural northeastern Thailand Khon Kaen and was a favored few artist who study in the United States thanks to his wealthy parents. He lived long alien life. that would make him considerate his root. Maybe all the ‘Jungle Story’ that Apichatpong made would be the result of the consideration about identity in the boundary lives <Mysterious object at noon> find the source of the story, finding human sources <Tropical Malady>, both cinematic journey to find discrete identities were missing in Thai history is rooted in the desire for ‘source’. his passion was sublimated to artistic aspiration due to condition s of his life. He lived as a wanderer could contemplate the people and history through a wider field of vision because they could not belong entirely to either. He came back to jungle where he was born eventually. And he set up a plan to restore the memory and history of his ancestors in the jungle. But the jungle dissolved all of the conditions of life surrounding him at any moment. However he realized that jungle was huge blast furnace that melts all heterogeneous elements. The concept of Thainess is a delusion that the concept of geo-body made. Similarly, locality of Issarn is inessential. World is jungle for Issarn people who lead boundless life and jungle was world itself before civilization from the first. Consequently, some people believed that it is possible to composite plural time and space in jungle. But this idea is an illusion which artificial locality made. In that sense authentic purpose of 'Primitive Project' lies in every trial to test possibility integrated thought which is incompatible heterogeneous elements make compatible in plural plans. This possibility result from Apichatpong's philosophical thought toward accountability of cinema. This article seeks to some condition of cinematic archive, if cinema will be a kind of archive.
