어느 시대를 막론하고 인간의 공간에 대한 경험과 기억, 특정 공간에 대한 기억의 의미는 사회문화적으로 구성 및 재구성된다. 따라서영화의 영화적 공간에 대한 감독과 관객의 경험이나 그 경험을 통한공간에 대한 기억, 그 기억의 의미 역시 영화와 감독, 관객이 속해 있는 당대의 사회문화적인 맥락에 의해 결정될 수밖에 없다. 이 논문은 시카고 하이츠라고 하는 물리적 공간을 배경으로 제작된<시카고 하이츠>의 영화적 공간에 대한 기억의 문제를 다루고자 했다. 특히 이 논문은 프레임이나 쇼트 단위의 영상미학적 측면에서보다 사회문화적 맥락을 중심으로 접근하는 사회과학적 측면에서의 영화적공간과 기억에 대한 논의를 중심으로 연구하고자 했다. 이를 위해 <시카고 하이츠>의 영화적 공간이 어떤 의미를 구성하는지, 그 공간과 기억의 터는 어떤 관계를 형성하는지를 공간, 제3의 공간, 헤테로토피아, 기억, 문화적 기억, 기억의 터에 대한 이론적 리뷰를 통한 질적 연구방법론을 통해 탐색하고자 했다.
Abstract
The experience and the memory about the space of human and the meaning of the memory about the specific space are constructed and re-constructed socio-culturally of all periods. Therefore, the experience of director and audience about cinematic space, the memory about the space through the experience, and the meaning of that memory should be determined by the contemporary socio-cultural contexts.
