증환의 캐릭터, 그 독자성의 발현과 서사 기능

본 연구는 관객의 감정이입을 불편하게 하여 내러티브에 균열을 내는 캐릭터들의 비일관성에 주목하면서 그것이 곧 캐릭터의 어떤 ‘독자성’과 맞닿고 의미를 획득하는지를 보여주고, 그 과정에서 어떻게 서사 기능에 영향을 미치는지를 파악해보고자 한다. 먼저, 본 연구는 라캉의 증상(symptom)과 증환(sinthome)의 개념을정의한다. 라캉은 증환이란, ‘내 안에 있는 나 이상의 것’이라고 말한다. 모든 존재는 증환 속에 있다. 만일 증환을 제거한다면 그 자신은실정적 존재론적 일관성을 상실하고 존재하기를 멈출 것이라고 강조한다. 증상을 해석했음에도 그 증상이 사라지지 않는 것은 주이상스때문이다. 그래서 ‘의미 속의 주이상스(jouis-sense)라는 기표’, 증환 개념이 탄생한다. 라캉에게 ‘충동이란 주체의 욕망, 결여가 타자의 욕망, 결여와 만나는 지점에서 형성되는 것이다. 따라서 충동을 인간 현실 속에 들여오는 가장 중요한 원동력은 바로 ‘타자의 욕망’이라 할 수 있다. 라캉이분류한 구조인 신경증, 도착증, 정신병은 그러한 충동을 자기화하는다른 방식들이다. 본 연구는 프로이트와 라캉 그리고 이를 해석한 지젝의 분석적 개념들을 연구하여, 분석과 해석의 토대를 공고히 하고다음의 내용을 수행한다. 첫째, 본 연구는 후기 라캉의 주체 개념을 조회하고, 나아가 지젝이해석한 후기 라캉의 핵심개념들- 대상a와 S(A/ ), 그리고 Φ-을 조명하고 정리한다. 그리고 증환을 정의한다. 둘째, 라캉의 정신병 맥락에 속한 캐릭터를 재현하는 데이비드 크로넨버그의 <스파이더>(2002)를 분석하고, 도착증의 사례로 선행연구가 있는 박찬욱의 <친절한 금자씨>(2005)의 병리적 캐릭터를 라캉의 논의에 근거하여 분석하고 재해석한다. 그리고 신경증 캐릭터의 영화를 분석하고 해석한다. 히스테리 신경증 캐릭터연구를 위해 본 연구는 <혐오스런 마츠코의 일생>(2006)을 분석한다. 그리고 강박신경증의사례로 지젝이 주목한 <파이트 클럽>(1999)을 분석하고 해석함으로써새로운 관점에서 정리한다. 셋째, 사례들에 대한 평가와 종합을 수행하고 증환과 증환의 캐릭터를 정리한다.
Abstract
This study focuses on the incompatibility of characters that cause spectator empathy to become uncomfortable and crack narratives, and tries to show what “readability” of the character and what meaning it gains, and how it affects the narrative function in the process. First, this study defines the concept of symptom and sinthome of Lacan. Lacan says that the thing is ‘more than I am in me.’ All beings are in sinthome. Lacan do emphasize that if the sinthome is removed, s/he will lose real existential consistency and stop being present. However, jouissance is the reason why the symptoms do not disappear even after interpreting them. That's why the concept of sinthome is born. For Lacan, drive is the point where the desire of the subject are met with the desire of the Other. Therefore, the most important force that brings drive into human reality is the desire of the Other. Neurosis, perversion and psychosis, the structures Lacan classified, are different ways of coming into such drive. This study studies the analytical concepts of Freud and Lacan and of Zizek who interpreted them, and does the following by solidifying the basis of analysis and interpretation. First, this study do divide the concept of the subject of late Lacan and further summarizes the core concepts of late Lacan, interpreted by Zizek, S(A/ ), object a, and Φ. Second, this study do analyze the film of psychotic character, with <spider> (2002) made by David Cronenberg. And this study do analyze film associated with disavowal character, with <Sympathy For Lady Vengeance> (2005). And this study do analyze the films of the hysteric character, with and <Memories Of Matsuko> (2006) and this study do analyze the films of the obsessive character, with and <Fight Club> (1999). Third, this study do conduct an evaluation and synthesis of cases and establish a concept of sinthome and the character of sinthome.
