Mutual submission is a voluntary yielding in love in Christian relationships. The purpose of this study is to help Christian couples to understand the concept of mutual submission and practice it in their marital relationships for the glory of God. The sources are from New Korean Revised Version, published literature, journal articles and personal observation. Historically, mutual submission has been rarely taught and practiced between husbands and wives. Obedience has been solely imposed upon women. Consequently, churches could not prevent the abuse of power. However, Christ showed us an example of true headship and submission. Promise Keepers, Aglow of America, Father School, Mother School, and various evangelical meetings of Korea focus on submission to God first, and then submission to spouses and children next. Mutual submission is the way through which the mind of Christ is revealed in all relationships. It is an outcome of Spirit-filled life and an act of strength.
