본 연구는 부모의 이혼으로 인하여 부성상실을 경험한 어린이가 체험하고 있는 심리적 현상이 무엇이며, 영성상담에 참여한 어린이가 주관적으로 지각하고 재구성하는 하나님 이미지는 무엇인가를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위한 연구 참여자는 모자보호시설에서 생활하고 있거나 퇴소한 어린이를 대상으로 모(母)의 동의가 있는 초등학교 어린이 10명을 선정하였고, 심층면담을 통해 수집된 자료와 그리스도요법을 적용한 어린이 영성상담에서 모아진 자료는 van Manen의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 주제별로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 어린이들이 체험하고 있는 심리적 현상에서, 아빠는 무섭고 싫은 존재로 기억하면서도 그리워하는 것으로 나타났으며, 함께 있는 엄마는 아낌없이 주는 나무처럼 고마운 관계이지만 자신에게 부과된 집안일과 초기 사춘기 심리로 인한 불만 표현 등이 양가감정의 상태로 드러났다. 친구 관계에서는 잦은 이사에 따른 학업부진 등으로 친구 맺는 경험의 부재가 또래에서의 소외감을 드러내었고 모자시설에서 사는 것을 친구들에게 숨기고 싶은 관계적 갈등을 표현하였다. 자신에 대해서는 낮은 자존감과 악몽으로 시달리지만 재능을 찾아서 꿈을 펼치기를 소망하는 것으로 나타났다. 침묵을 통한 묵상기도 훈련은 마음속의 하나님께 자신의 마음과 소원을 표현하는 것으로 드러났으며 이러한 변화는 자기 자신과의 관계에 긍정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 영성상담을 통하여 체험하는 하나님의 이미지는 무섭고 벌주시며 자신을 버릴 것 같은, 부모로부터 투사된 하나님을 묘사하였으나 영성상담의 친밀한 상호관계 속에서 예술 활동으로 마음을 열고 함께 자유롭게 표현하는 성경역할극은 하나님의 이미지를 실제적이고 긍정적인 이미지로 재구성하도록 해주었다.
Abstract
This study is to explore the psychological phenomenology of children who experienced the loss of their father due to their parent's divorce and their perception and subjective reconstruction of God's image. For this, ten elementary school children living in or out of a mother-child caring community were selected as the study participants, with the permission of their mothers. The data were collected from the deep interview and child spirituality counseling applied to the Christotherapy and analyzed with Max van Manen's thematic method of phenomenology. The results of this study were as follows. Psychologically, the children remembered their fathers as dreaded and unlovable beings, but they also missed them. They were ambivalent about their mothers in that they appreciated their mothers but were discontented with the burden of their family troubles. These attitudes transferred to their subjective image of what God was like. In the relationships with their friends, they felt isolated from their peer groups because of moving frequently and neglecting their schoolwork. They felt a relational conflict from hiding their life in the mother-child community. They suffered from low self-respect and nightmares, but they still hoped to make their dreams come true. They expressed their deep minds and wished to God through silent contemplative prayer. This change revealed the positive influence on their relationships with themselves. Through the spirituality counseling, their images of God changed from being dreaded, punitive, and abandoned to a positive image. In the beginning of the counseling they expressed the image of God that was projected from their parents, but gradually they began to relate intimately with the group members and opened their minds through bible role play and art actions. Finally, they were able to reconstruct a positive image of God.
