놀이에 대한 목회 신학적 고찰 - 놀이와 신경증의 비교를 통한 놀이의 진정한 의미 파악하기 -

인간은 누구나 자기 욕구의 분출을 통해 만족을 얻고자 하며 이에 대한 본질적인 이유는 바로 쾌락의 획득이다. 이를 위한 다양한 방법들이 우리 생활 가운데 존재한다. 그중 자기 주체적이자 능동-의식적 특징을 가진 놀이는 욕구 분출을 위한 가장 건강하고도 효율적인 방법이라 할 수 있다. 하지만 중독, 왕따, 폭력과 같은 신경증적 증상들을 놀이로 착각하여 이를 추구하고 이에 종속되는 사람들의 모습들을 우리는 어렵지 않게 발견할 수 있다. 연구자는 상담 상황 속에서 자신의 신경증을 놀이라 여기고 이를 통해 자신의 욕구를 거리낌 없이 발산하는 내담자들을 많이 만나왔다. 이러한 신경증의 ‘놀이로의 둔갑’은 신경증을 더욱 고착 및 강화시켜 놀이의 본질적인 의미에서 점점 멀어지게 하여 결국 욕구의 분출을 차단시키는 비정상적인 정신 현상을 초래하게 한다. 그래서 놀이에 대한 정확한 개념 이해를 통해 ‘놀이의 신경증화’ 위험에서 벗어나 삶의 다양한 부분으로 놀이 개념이 적용되어 건강한 즐거움과 쾌락을 얻을 수 있도록 하고자 함이 연구자가 이 연구를 계획하게 된 이유이다. 또한 신경증화의 위험에서 자유롭게 된 놀이의 개념은 삶의 다양한 부분에 적용 가능하다. 이를 위해서는 이제까지 우리가 갖고 있던 놀이에 대한 선입견과 편견, 즉 부정적인 견해에서 벗어나 중립적인 인식을 갖고 놀이의 개념에 접근해야 한다. 이 논문을 통해 연구자는 놀이와 신경증을 비교하여 이 둘을 명확하게 구분하고, 인간의 욕구를 건강하게 분출시키는 진정한 놀이의 기능에 대해 설명하였으며, 나아가 놀이의 개념을 목회 신학적 차원에 적용 및 활용할 수 있는지에 대해 모색하면서 목회 신학적 영혼 돌봄의 발전에 기여하고자 하였다.
Abstract
Everyone wants to express their desires. The expression of desire leads directly to fulfillment. Of course, the purpose of satisfying is to acquire pleasure. There are various methods for this, but among them, play, which is self-subjective and has an active-conscious characteristic, can be said to be the healthiest way of expressing desire. However, some people pursue and depend on neurotic symptoms such as addiction, bullying, and violence as play. Disguising neuroses as play further fixes and strengthens the neurosis, increasingly distancing the person from the essential meaning of play, resulting in abnormal psycho-phenomena that eventually block the release of desire. Therefore, I planned this study to explore the healthy enjoyment and pleasure by applying the concept of play to various parts of life, free from the danger of the neurosis of play through an accurate understanding of the concept of play. Through this study, I clearly distinguished play and neurosis, and I explained the function of true play that has a mechanism to express desire healthily. In addition, I tried to contribute to the development of pastoral theological as soul care by exploring whether the concept of play can be applied and utilized in pastoral theological practice.
