본 연구는 4.13총선(제20대 국회의원선거)에 대한 특징 및 결과분석과 유권자의 관심과 인식을 조사하여 정책적인 시사점을 제공하는데 목적을 두었다. 조사 대상지역은 대구･경북이고 628개의 표본을 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석결과를 사실(결과분석)과 의견(조사인식)을 구분하여 하였는데, 전자는 4･13총선의의, 후보자, 행태, 당선자 특징 측면에서 고려하였고 후자는 총선에 대한 관심도, 투표율, 후보자 결정시기, 인지경로, 후보자 선택요인 등을 위주로 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 첫째, 전반적으로 과거 총선에 비해 투표율 및 관심도 상당히 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 또한 특이할 만한 것은 지역 대학생을 위시한 젊은 층의 총선거에 대한 관심도가 매우 증가한 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 후보자를 인지하는 방법에는 언론매체와 선거공보 및 홍보 등이 중요하다. 특히 인터넷, SNS 등 다양한 선거운동방법이 활용되는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지역 유권자들의 후보자 선택에 인물, 공약, 정당, 지역발전에 대한 기여도 등이 강조되고 있었다. 하지만 그 중에서도 정당요인을 가장 강력한 영향요인 임이 입증되었다. 넷째, 이번 총선의 가장 큰 문제점으로는 공천갈등에 두고 있으며, 앞으로 선거에서는 공천과정의 공정성과 투명성 확보를 위해 더욱 노력해야 하는 것으로 분석되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and results of the general election (20th National Assembly election) and to provide policy implications by examining voters' interest and perception. The survey area is Daegu and Gyeongbuk, and 628 samples are selected and analyzed. The research was divided into fact(result analysis) and opinion(survey recognition). The former is considered in terms of the characteristics of candidates, behaviors, and elected members of the general election in 2016, while the latter analyzed the interest in the general election, voting rate, candidate decision time, cognitive path, and candidate selection factors. The results of the analysis are summarized as follows. First, overall, the voting rate and interest in the general election has been significantly higher than in the past. In addition, the interest in the general election of young people such as local university students has increased remarkably. Second, the way to recognize candidates is important for media, election bulletin, and publicity. In particular, various campaigning methods such as the Internet and SNS are being used. Third, the choice of candidates for local voters emphasized the character, policy, political parties, and local development. However, it is proved that the party factor is the strongest influential factor. Fourth, the biggest problem of this election is in the nomination conflict. In future elections, it is analyzed that more efforts should be made to ensure fairness and transparency of nomination process.
