한국과 비세그라드 4국 간 무역구조의 변화 분석

본 연구는 2000년대 이후 무역규모가 크게 증가한 한국과 비세그라드 4국, 즉 체코, 헝가리, 폴란드, 슬로바키아 간 교역에 있어 그 무역구조가 어떻게 변화되어 왔는지 분석하였다. 분석 결과에 의하면 한국과 이들 국가 간 무역에서 산업 간 무역의 비중이 가장 크지만 산업 내 무역의 비중도 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 산업 내 무역 가운데는 수직적 산업 내 무역의 비중이 크고 수평적 산업 내 무역의 비중은 여전히 미미한 수준이다. 이들 국가의 무역구조 변화를 프랑스, 독일, 영국 등 서유럽의 경우와 비교했을 때 산업 내 무역의 비중 증가는 유사하게 나타나지만, 절대적인 비중의 수준은 비세그라드 그룹이 여전히 낮았다. 비세그라드 4국 가운데서는 헝가리의 산업 내 무역 비중이 가장 높았고, 이어서 체코, 폴란드, 슬로바키아의 순이었다. 이들 국가들의 경우 해외직접투자가 산업 내 무역의 증가와 관련성이 높다는 것은 발견하기 어려웠다. 반면, 수출과 수입의 규모가 유사하거나 일정 수준 이상인 경우에는 산업 내 무역의 비중이 높게 나타날 가능성이 있는 것을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the changes in the trade structure between Korea and the Visegrad group countries since the year 2000. Our empirical analyses find that inter-industry trade is dominant in the Korea-Visegrad group countries trade while the share of intra-industry trade has been expanding. In the intra-industry trade, the portion of vertical intra-industry trade is much larger than that of horizontal intra-industry trade. We also investigate the trade between Korea and the leading EU countries such as Germany, France and UK. We find that the share of intra-industry trade in the trade between Korea and the leading countries has been growing. The similar pattern appears in the trade between Korea and the Visegrad group countries but the absolute share is still lower than that for Korea- the leading EU countries. We also examined the effect of Korea’s direct investment into the Visegard group on the trade but only to fail to find any favorable evidence.
