이 연구의 목적은 다문화 배경 초등학생을 위한 『표준 한국어』 교재의 문화교육 내용을 분석하고 그에 따른 개선방안을 제시하는 것이다. 목표 언어의 문화에 대한 이해 없이는 진정한 의사소통 능력의 향상이 이루어질 수 없으므로 다문화 시대의 한국어 학습자들을 위해 문화교육이 적절하게 이루어져야 한다. 『표준 한국어』 교재에서는 모두 169개의 문화 요소가 나타났다. 분석은 두 가지 측면으로 실시하였다. 첫 번째로 한국어 교육과정에 제시된 문화의 단계별 성취 기준에 따른 분석 결과에서는 대부분의 문화 요소가 일방적 제시의 방법으로 교재에서 나타나고 있어 교재를 통해 한국어 교과의 목표인 ‘상호문화 이해 능력을 함양하고 한국 사회 구성원으로서의 정체성 함양’을 이루기에는 어려울 것으로 보았다. 두 번째로 문화유형에 따른 분석 결과에서는 행동문화가 104개, 정신문화는 45개, 물질문화는 20개 순으로 나타났다. 행동문화는 가장 많이 나타난 만큼 각 단원의 주제와의 연관성이 높고 한국어 교육과정의 목표도 비교적 잘 반영한 것으로 분석되었다. 정신문화는 가장 낮은 단계인 1권에서 가장 높은 비율로 나타나고 있어 내용 구성에서 계열성의 문제가 지적되었다. 물질문화는 가장 낮은 비율로 교재에 반영되어 있어 교재를 통해 학습자들이 접할 수 있는 물질문화는 매우 제한적인 것으로 분석되었다.
Abstract
This study object to analyze contents of cultural education in 『Standard Korean Textbook』 for multicultural background elementary students and Suggest ways to improve. Improvement in communication skills can not be achieved without understanding the culture of the target language. Therefore, cultural education should be appropriate for Korean learners in the multicultural era. In the 『Standard Korean Textbook』, all 169 cultural elements appeared. First, as a result of analysis based on the achievement goal of the culture presented in the Korean curriculum, most of the cultural elements appeared in the textbook as a method of one-way presentation. Second, as a result of analysis according to the culture type, 104 behavioral cultures were most common, 45 mental cultures, and 20 material cultures. The behavioral culture was analyzed to be highly related to the subject of the textbook and to reflect the goals of the Korean language curriculum. Mental culture was shown at the highest rate in the lowest level, indicating the problem of the sequentiality of content composition. Material culture is reflected in the textbook at the lowest rate, the material culture that learners can access through the textbook was analyzed to be very limited.
