초록
Abstract
The present article is based on the hypothesis that the judeo-español influences its writing system of Ladino. It also states that the Hebrew texts translation into this language began after the second half of the fifteenth century. It employed Hebrew letters but also Latin letters and was targeted to Jewish readers. The first hypothesis is supported with examples of Hebrew influence in the levels of: phonetic-phonology, lexical-semantics, morphological-morphosyntax and syntax (code switching). The existence of an oral Jewish biblical literature and the concept of the language behind the prologue of the Ferrara Bible are other evidences that confirm the first hypothesis. In order to verify the second hypothesis, some features of the Hebrew language are introduced and the ladino works of the post-exile period and their readers are described. In addition, the influence of the Hebrew language is analyzed in translations that precede the second half of the fifteenth century: the Escorial Bible and the Alba Bible, and in further versions: the Ferrara Bible, the Bible of Constantine(1580) and the Constantinople Pentateuch. The results of the analysis indicate that in the pre-exile translations, Hebrew is only present in some proper names; while in the latter its influence can be observed in each level of the language.
