본 연구는 스페인 및 라틴아메리카에서 디지털인문학(DH)에 대한 교육 및 연구 동향을 살펴보고자 한다. 디지털인문학은 영미권에 확고한 뿌리를 두고 태동하였지 만, 스페인어권에서 디지털인문학은 지역 학문 전통, 문화적 맥락 및 기술 인프라에 의해 영향을 받는 독특한 특성을 지니며 성장해왔다. 스페인은 디지털인문학 연구 과 교육이 대학, 연구소, 도서관 등 고등 교육 기관을 중심으로 제도적인 차원에서 이뤄지고 있다면, 라틴아메리카는 개인적인 네트워크를 중심으로 한, 범분야 파트너 십 및 지역 컨소시엄이 특징적이다. 이러한 차이점에도 불구하고 두 지역 모두 디 지털인문학 관련 재정적 지원 유치, 인프라 및 방법론적 적응에 어려움을 겪고 있 다. 본 연구는, 스페인과 라틴아메리카의 디지털인문학의 짧은 역사 및 현황을 보여줌으로써 향후 국내 디지털인문학 관련 교육계와 학계에 시사점을 제공함과 동시에 한국과 스페인어권 간 언어권을 초월한 학문적 교류의 가능성을 제안해본다.
Abstract
The purpose of the current study is to explore the evolving landscape of Digital Humanities(DH) in Spain and Latin America in both research and educational realms. Although DH has firmly rooted in anglophone countries, its adoption and evolution in the Spanish-speaking world may reveal unique characteristics influenced by regional academic cultural contexts, and technological infrastructures. Spain has seen the rise of structured institutional efforts promoting DH studies and integration into higher education, while Latin America boasts a diverse array of cross-disciplinary partnerships, and regional consortium. Despite these efforts, however, both regions face challenges in funding, infrastructure, and methodological adaptation. This study diagnose the current state of DH in Spain and Latin America and postulates future trajectories, suggesting the potential for collaboration and innovation across the Atlantic and even with Korean digital humanists in the digital age.
