이 연구는 국내 대학의 디지털인문학 교육이 대학에 따라, 지역에 따라 어떠한 편차를 보이고 있는지, 혹은 같은 대학 내에서도 전공이나 과정별로 교육의 양과 질에 어떠한 차이가 있는지 확인하고자 한다. 또한 해외 대학에서의 디지털인문학 교육 현황을 살피고 이를 통해 향후 국내 대학의 디지털인문학 교육의 나아갈 발향에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. 연구 결과 국내 대학에서 디지털인문학 교육은 대체로 연계전공으로 개설되어 있으며 인문학 전공 분야에서 적극적으로 개입하고 있는 양상을 보였다. 반면에 학부 및 대학원에 디지털인문학이 독립된 전공으로 설치, 운영되는 사례가 드물었다. 영국, 미국, 프랑스, 네덜란드 대학에서의 디지털인문학 교육 현황을 검토한 결과, 한국에서도 정부 차원에서 보다 적극적이고 안정적인 지원을 지속해야 한다는 점, 디지털인문학의 성과 공유 플랫폼을 구축하여 대학 내 교육 주제의 편향성을 지양하고 각 대학의 연구 및 교육성과를 집적, 확산해 나가야 한다는 점을 결론으로 얻을 수 있었다. 그동안 디지털인문학 연구에서는 특정 분야의 인문학 교육을 위해 디지털인문학을 도입하는 방안이 단편적으로 연구되어 왔으나 국내 대학의 디지털인문학 전공 및 교양 교육과정을 개괄한 연구가 없었다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the variations in digital humanities education among domestic universities based on the institutions and regions, as well as the differences in the quantity and quality of education within the same university across different majors or programs. Additionally, it explores the current state of digital humanities education in foreign universities to derive implications for the future direction of digital humanities education in domestic universities. The study found that digital humanities education in domestic universities is generally offered as an interdisciplinary program and is actively integrated into humanities majors. However, there were few cases where digital humanities were established and operated as an independent major at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Upon reviewing the state of digital humanities education in universities in the UK, the USA, France, and the Netherlands, it was concluded that the Korean government needs to provide more proactive and stable support. Moreover, it is necessary to build a platform for sharing digital humanities achievements to avoid biases in educational topics within universities and to aggregate and disseminate the research and educational outcomes of each university. The significance of this study lies in addressing the lack of comprehensive research on the digital humanities majors and general education curricula in domestic universities, contrasting with the previous fragmented research focused on incorporating digital humanities for specific fields of humanities education.
