· 연구 주제: 본 연구는 니트 청년의 고립과 연결의 뒤섞임 경험에 관한 총체적인 의미를 탐구하는 것이 핵심으로서, 당사자들의 상황과 특성을 깊이 있게 이해하고자 질적 연구방법에 토대를 두어 작성된 기존 연구물들의 결과를 총망라 및 합성하였다. · 연구 배경: 최근 경제여건과 노동환경 급변으로 구직, 교육, 훈련 등과 관련해 아무것도 하지 않거나 무업 상태인 니트 청년을 지원할 필요성이 크게 부상하였으나, 이들의 실상에 관한 명확한 이해와 맞춤형 접근은 아직도 부족해 관심이 시급하다. · 선행연구와의 차이점: 본고에서는 니트 청년의 고립과 연결의 뒤섞임 경험의 의미를 한곳에 모아 정리와 통합하고자 질적 메타합성에 따라 당사자들의 실제 맥락을 종합적으로 밝혀냈고, 기존 질적 연구물을 해석학적 순환 과정으로 재구성 및 재해석함으로써 새로운 차원의 앎의 지평을 열었다는 차별적 연구결과를 제시했다. · 연구방법: Aguirre와 Bolton(2014)이 사회복지 분야 질적 연구물의 통합과 집대성의 한 가지로 제시한 질적 해석적 메타합성에 입각해 분석을 수행했다. 연구대상은 니트 청년의 고립과 연결의 뒤섞임 경험 관련 질적 연구물 7편(연구참여자 총 111명)이다. · 연구결과: 분석을 통해 총 12개의 하위범주와 4개의 상위범주를 발견했다. 특히 상위범주는 ‘남들과는 다르게 들어선 청년기 발달의 길’, ‘괜찮은 한몫 못하는 조각난 그림자’, ‘날개 없이 허우적거리는 날 일으키려는 손길’, ‘여전히 망설이지만 조심스레 펼쳐보는 꾸깃꾸깃한 나’였다. 최종적으로 찾아낸 중심주제는 ‘무망과 희망의 뒤엉킴 속에 성근 파편 되어 느리게라도 맞춰가려는 인생의 퍼즐’과 같았다. · 공헌점 및 기대효과: 본 연구는 니트 청년의 생활과 적응 등을 종합적으로 이해하는 데에 이바지했으며, 연구결과에 바탕을 두어 해당 인구집단의 특성과 사회적 욕구 파악, 삶의 질 지원 확대 등을 위한 차원의 논의가 더 활성화될 수 있으리라 기대한다.
Abstract
· Research topics: This study explores the holistic meaning of NEETs’ churning experiences of isolation and connection. It covers and synthesizes the results of existing studies conducted with qualitative research methods to deeply understand the characteristics and circumstances of the persons in question. · Research background: The need for support for NEETs who have been inactive or unemployed for the long term, concerning job search, education, and training, has emerged significantly due to the recent economic conditions and rapid changes in the labor environment; however, there is still a lack of clear understanding of their actual situation and customized approaches. · Differences from prior research: This research presents differentiated results in that it comprehensively reveals the actual context of the persons directly concerned based on qualitative meta-synthesis to collect, organize, and integrate the meanings of NEETs’ churning experiences of isolation and connection, and opens up a new level of knowledge by reconstructing and reinterpreting existing qualitative studies according to the hermeneutic circulation process. · Research method: The analysis was conducted employing the qualitative interpretive meta-synthesis proposed by Aguirre and Bolton (2014) as a way of integrating and synthesizing qualitative research in the social welfare field. A total of eight qualitative studies (111 participants) were analyzed, which discussed the churning experiences of isolation and connection among NEETs. · Research results: This study found a total of 12 subcategories and 4 upper categories. Especially, the upper categories were ‘The path of young adult development entered differently from others,’ ‘Insignificant daily life,’ ‘fragmented shadows without a decent role,’ ‘A hand trying to lift me up when I flounder without wings,’ and ‘Still hesitant but carefully unfolding crumpled me.’ In the end, the central topic extracted was ‘A puzzle of life that is slowly being put together with sparse debris in a tangle of hopelessness and hope.’ · Contribution points and expected effects: This study has contributed to a comprehensive understanding of the lives and adaptations of NEETs, and it is expected that discussions at the level of identifying the characteristics and social needs of this population and expanding support for quality of life will become more active based on the research results.
