청소년의 생애목표가 스트레스에 미치는 영향 : 공동체 의식의 조절효과를 중심으로

본 연구는 한국 사회에서 고3 청소년의 생애목표가 스트레스에 미치는 영향에 대한 공동체 의식의 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 분석을 위해 초·중·고등학생을 대상으로 인지와 정서의 발달 및 가정과 학교에서의 교육경험을 조사한 한국교육개발원의 한국교육종단연구(KELS)2013 데이터의 8차년도(2020년) 자료를 활용하였다. PROCESS MACRO 방법을 이용하여 분석한 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외재적 목표인 물질주의 지향 수준이 높을수록 스트레스는 증가하고 공동체 의식은 물질주의 지향으로 인한 스트레스의 증가를 완화한다. 둘째, 내재적 목표인 자기성장 지향 수준이 높을수록 스트레스가 감소하고 공동체 의식 수준이 높으면 자기성장 지향 증가에 따른 스트레스 수준의 감소가 더 크게 나타나지만 공동체 의식 수준이 낮으면 자기성장 지향 증가에 따른 스트레스 감소 정도가 적게 나타나는 강화효과가 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 청소년기의 생애목표가 학업스트레스에 미치는 영향에 대해 공동체 의식이 스트레스를 완화하는 효과가 있음을 보여준다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 정책적인 차원에서 청소년의 스트레스를 지원할 수 있는 방안 모색을 제안하고 청소년의 스트레스 완화 및 해소 지원을 위한 공동체 의식 강화와 교육적 함의 및 시사점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
This paper analyzed the moderating effect of a sense of community on the impact of life goals on stress among high school seniors, who experience high levels of stress in an entrance exam-oriented education system. For analysis, data obtained from the Korea Education Longitudinal Study (KELS) 2013 were used. KELS 2013 explored the cognitive and emotional development of elementary, middle, and high school students and their educational experiences at home and school. The analysis was conducted by applying the PROCESS macro method to data from the 8th survey of 2020 third-year high school students. The analysis results were as follows: First, a higher materialistic orientation was associated with increased stress levels. Additionally, a sense of community was found to mitigate increases in stress induced by materialistic values. Second, a higher self-growth orientation was linked to lower stress levels. Furthermore, the higher the sense of community, the greater the reductions in stress levels according to increases in self-growth values. However, when the sense of community level was low, the reduction in stress due to an increase in self-growth orientation was found to be insignificant. These results demonstrate that a sense of community plays a crucial role in alleviating stress related to the impact of adolescent life goals. Therefore, to effectively manage adolescents' stress levels, efforts are needed to create an educational environment conducive to fostering a strong sense of community. This necessitates the implementation of policy measures aimed at promoting a sense of community.
