임재 서찬규의 강학 공간 낙동정사의 건립과 학계 구성

Abstract

ImJae(臨齋) Seo Chan-gyu(徐贊奎, 1825~1905), a scholar from Daegu(大邱), was an academic figure. In addition, he received much respect for his exemplary personality and behavior. Nakdong-jeongsa(洛東精舍) was built in 1901 by his disciples and descendants. It was his lecture space for later life. After Imjae(臨齋)'s death, it was also a place for local intellectuals to study and discuss, as well as a gathering place for academic friendship and solidarity. It is located near Hwawon(花園) Park in Dalseong-gun, Daegu. Nakdong-jeongsa(洛東精舍) was frequented visited by scholars decades ago, but now its old appearance is disappearing and its history is being forgotten. However, about 5,000 records from Nakdong-jeongsa(洛東精舍) remain to shed light on its history and meaning. This study analyzed the process of the construction of Nakdong-jeongsa(洛東精舍) and the creation of funds, focusing on the data passed down to the present day. In addition, a list of Seo Chan-gyu(徐贊奎)'s disciples at Nakdong-jeongsa(洛東精舍) examined the size and composition of the family and region. In particular, the list draws attention as it includes nine signers from the Daegu(大邱) area of the Paris-Jangseot(巴里長書), which is Confucians's independence petition. Therefore, we also looked at the inside stories of their activities at Nakdong-jeongsa(洛東精舍).
