김수행 교수는 최근의 저서에서 미래사회의 대안으로 마르크스의 자유로운 개인의 연합(자개연)을 제시하였다. 이 글의 목적은 자개연의 자유, 개인 및 연합이 무엇을 의미하는지 밝혀보는 것이다. 그 결과 자개연의 자유, 개인 및 연합은 다음과 같다. 1. 자유는 노동 그 자체를 목적으로 활동하는 자유를 의미한다. 2. 개인은 사회적 관계 속에서 능동적인 활동을 보장받는 사회적 개인이다. 3. 연합은 자본주의 재생산과정에 포섭되지 않는 연합의 자발적인 네트워크이다. 이러한 검토를 통해 자개연의 원칙은 자본주의의 자유, 개인 및 연합과 판이하게 다르다. 이러한 차이를 인식하면 당장 자개연의 원칙을 실행에 옮길 수 있다. 자개연은 아직 오지 않은 것이 아니라 우리가 만들지 못한 것일 뿐이다.
Abstract
In his recent book, Professor Kim Soo-Haeng showed how the association of free individuals could be part of an alternative future society. The aim of this paper is compare this association with capitalist society. Freedom, individual and association mean: 1. Freedom: the freedom of activity where labor is an end in itself. 2. Individual: social individual who can engage in voluntary activity due to non-exploitative social relations. 3. Association: a voluntary network whose associations are not subsumed under the capitalist process of reproduction. Freedom, individual and association of this association are very different from those of capitalist society. If we recognize this difference, we can create this form of association. This Association is not the thing which does not come yet, but the thing which we don’t make yet. Therefore, we cannot wait for voluntary association: it does not exist because we have not made it yet.
