한국의 소득주도성장과 일본의 새로운 자본주의 : 동아시아의 뉴딜?

이 글에서는 그동안의 신자유주의 또는 1980년대 이후 경제 흐름에 대한 반성과대안으로 여겨지기도 하는 한국의 ‘소득주도성장’과 아베노믹스의 뒤를 잇는 일본기시다 행정부의 ‘새로운 자본주의(New Capitalism)’에 대해 소개한다. 이러한 정책들은 한국과 일본 두 나라의 현재 상황에서 제안가능한 정책들이기는 하다. 하지만, 한국과 일본의 소득주도성장과 새로운 자본주의는 일견 유사한 측면이 있지만, 일본의 새로운 자본주의는 그동안 이루어진 일본의 신자유주의 정책의 전환이라고보기에 매우 부족하며, 한국의 소득주도성장은 일본의 새로운 자본주의에 비해 좀더 적극적으로 신자유주의를 극복하려는 정책으로 보이지만, 이를 위해서는 좀 더포괄적인 형태의 정책으로 발전할 필요성이 있음을 지적한다.
Abstract
This article introduces the policies of "income-led growth" of South Korea and "new capitalism" of the Kishida administration in Japan, which are often seen as a reflection of and an alternative to the neoliberal or post-1980s economic trend. There are some similarities between the two, but Japan's new capitalism falls far short of being a reversal of the country’s neoliberal policies, while South Korea's income-led growth seems to be a more active policy to overcome neoliberalism. However, the latter needs to be developed into a more comprehensive policy.
