차세대 무선 이동통신에서 멀티미디어 서비스를 효과적으로 제공하기 위해서는 전송되는 데이터의 대용량화와 데이터 전송 속도의 고속화가 요구된다. 이를 충족시킬 수 있는 주요 기술 중 하나가 다중 안테나를 이용한 이동통신 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 part I[1]에 이어 다중 안테나 전송 기술 중 MIMO의 기술 흐름 및 차세대 이동통신의 표준화기구인 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project)에서 다루어지는 기술 동향을 살펴본다.
Abstract
High data rate and high speed communication are extremely required for the next generation (4G) wireless communication to efficiently provide various multimedia services. One of the key-technology as well as best cost effective technology to support this requirement is a multiple antennas system with a sophisticated space-time signal processing technology. In this paper, the MIMO technology concept and trend of 3GPP (3rd generation Partnership Project), which is the wireless communication standard organization based on UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), is reviewed.
