RFID는 자동인식 및 데이터 획득(AIDC) 기술의 하나로서 사람의 작업이나 판단을 궁극적으로 배제하고 객체가 갖고 있는 정보를 자동적으로 취득, 온라인으로 관련 정보를 처리하는 자동처리 시스템 구현의 핵심요소 기술이다. RFID는 유비쿼터스 사회의 핵심 기술이며 가장 가시적 성과를 낼 수 있는 기술이다. 여타의 기술 분야에서도 그러하듯이 RFID 기술에 있어서도 기술력 확보와 시장선점을 위해 RFID 표준화는 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 핵심기반 기술인 RFID 표준화 관련 최근 동향을 국제 표준 단체인 ISO/IEC, EPCglobal 그리고 uID 센터를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 또한 국내 RFID 표준화 동향 및 표준화 추진 전략을 살펴보았다.
Abstract
RFID is one of the technologies for Automatic Identification and Data Capture(AIDC). It is the coretechnology to implement Automatic Processing Systems. RFID is expected to be a key core technology andmake real results in ubiquitous society. RFID standardization is very important to get technological know-how and preoccupy the RFID markets. In this paper, we describe current trends of RFID standardization and mainly focus on ISO/IEC, EPCglobal and uID Center activities. In addition, we explain the national RFID standardization activities and strategies.
