Based on the properties of wavelet orthogonal basis, three novel wavelet-based multi-carrier CDMA systems are proposed. The performances are investigated and compared to the conventional MC-CDMA systems. For the additive, white Gaussian noise, all three wavelet-based MC-CDMA have the same bit error rates as the corresponding MC/BPSK-CDMA and MC/QPSK-CDMA systems, however, they provide a significantly higher bandwidth efficiency than the conventional ones by suitably choosing a wavelet function. The proposed methods have a promising potential to be used in the broadband wireless communications.
