초록

In this paper, performance of a multicarrier DS/CDMA system with adaptive antenna array is analyzed and simulated in a multipath fading channel. The adaptive antenna array is applied to a receiver of the system. The performance is evaluated by bit error probability in a single-cell environment. The multipath fading channel is modeled as a Nakagami-m fading distribution that has flexibility to model the fading channel. The variations of BER performance are analyzed and simulated in terms of the number of subcarriers, the number of array elements, and the fading index, etc. RLS (recursive-least-square) algorithm is employed to find weight vector such that the array elements can steer a beam in a desired direction. From the simulation results, it is shown that the BER performance is significantly improved by employing adaptive antenna array. It is also shown that capacity increases by almost a factor two through the spatial gain from adaptive antenna array. The results in this paper can be applied to the design of the next-generation mobile communication system such as IMT-2000.

It is also shown that capacity increases by almost a factor two through the spatial gain from adaptive antenna array. The results in this paper can be applied to the design of the next-generation mobile communication system such as IMT-2000.
