Abstract
A mobile ad-hoc network is a temporary, infrastructureless, and self-organizing network which consists of mobile devices with wireless interface and routing capability. The mobile adhoc network has been studied since 1970's and its research issues include routing protocol, MAC, wireless TCP, etc. However there is little consideration of wireless technologies for mobile ad-hoc networks. In this paper, we define the requirements for wireless technologies deploying multi-hop mobile ad-hoc networks, and review existing wireless technologies to examine their applicability to multi-hop mobile ad-hoc networks.
