무선 LAN 규격의 표준화 및 제품의 상용화에 따라 최근의 네트워크의 구성에 있어서 무선 LAN의 이용이 급증하고 있다. 주요 사용처로는 댁내에서의 사용과 함께 기업과 같은 사무환경에서의 도입 그리고 특히 국내의 경우에는 통신사업자와 같은 NSP(Network Service Provider)들이 주도가 된 공중망 서비스가 활성화되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 이용 상황에서의 무선 LAN 구성과 현재까지 도입된 기술 및 문제점들을 분석하고, 각 문제점에 대한 다양한 연구 경향에 대해 기술한다. 또 현재의 서비스 형태 외에도 기술적으로 인접한 다른 분야로의 도입 및 기능 확장을 위한 연구가 어떻게 이루어지고 있는 지도 살펴 본다.
Abstract
As consequence of the latest data network building taking into account standardization of the wireless LAN specification and common usage of compliant products, the amount of wireless LAN users is greatly increasing. The main applications of wireless LAN are inside homes and enterprise environment. In Korea, telecom companies and NSP (Network Service Provider) are leading in the public network business. Circumstances surrounding such use of wireless LAN and the technologies employed so far as well as their problems will be analyzed in this paper. As far as the problems go, various research tendencies to solve them will also be discussed. Also, research for the expansion of other service aspects outside of today's service area will be investigated.
