이동통신과 초고속 인터넷 서비스의 성공과 WLAN의 대중화로 이제는 음성통신 서비스 뿐만 아니라 인터넷 서비스도 정지 및 이동 중에 언제, 어디서나 저렴한 가격에 고속으로 제공 받고 싶은 요구가 자연스럽게 형성되고 있다. 휴대인터넷이 이러한 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하는데 필요한 시스템으로 주목 받고 있으며 정부에서는 2.3GHz 대역을 이 서비스를 위하여 할당하였다. 통신업계는 휴대인터넷 서비스에 적합한 기술들을 개발, 시험하고 있으며 이러한 노력의 결과를 반영한 기술 표준을 정하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 휴대인터넷 관련 기술 및 국외의 표준화 현황을 알아보고, 현재 활발히 진행 중인 국내 표준화 현황을 설명한다
Abstract
It is believed that there are great demands of the Internet access that can be used anytime, anywhere by users in the stationary or mobile environments, with low-cost and high-speed of transmission. Portable Internet service/system has been noticed as the primary candidate system that can provide the service most costeffectively. industry has been developing and testing various technologies and trying to set up a technology as the standard. In this paper, we present the status of standardization for 2.3GHz portable internet services in Korea. Project group PG05 in TTA has been trying to set up the standard. By now, PG05 has defined the service/network requirements, and selected the target values of major system parameters. Next process is to get the proposals for the baseline of the standard and to evaluate those to select the best one as the basis of the standard. PG05 plans to finalize the standard within the first half of year 2004.
