본 연구는 유아의 가정환경이 유아의 정서지능 및 사회적 능력 형성에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여, 가정환경 수준에 따른 유아의 정서지능 및 사회적 능력 특징을 분석, 규명하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 서울 및 부산 지역에 소재한 유치원 16개 학급 291명을 대상으로 가정환경검사를 실시한 후 평균 점수를 기준으로 상, 중, 하 집단별로 각각 58명씩 총 174명을 최종 선정하였다. 선정된 대상 유아들을 8개월 이상 지도하고 있는 유치원 교사 16명이 유아 정서지능 및 사회적 능력 평정자로서 연구에 참여하였다. 연구 측정도구로는 부모용 “가정환경 척도”와 교사용 “유아정서지능 척도” 및 “사회적 능력 척도”를 사용하였으며, 연구 결과는 다변량분산분석과 상관분석의 방법을 사용하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 가정환경 수준에 따라 유아의 정서지능은 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 가정환경 수준에 따라 사회적 능력은 유의미한 차이가 없게 나타났다. 셋째, 유아의 정서지능과 사회적 능력간의 관계는 정적 상관이었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of children's home environment on emotional intelligence and social competence and to identify the correlation between emotional intelligence and social competence. The subjects were 291 children aged 5-to-6-years old, who attended different seven kindergartens located in Seoul and Pusan. They were selected from 174 children by score of home environment and then divided into 3 group(high, medium and low), 58 subjects respectively. Children's emotional intelligence and social competence was assessed by a teacher rating scale. Data were analyzed by MANOVA and Person's correlations.The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, there was founded significant difference between emotional intelligence and a level of home environment. Second, there was founded no significant difference between social competence and a level of home environment. Third, there was founded positive correlations between emotional intelligence and social competence.
