아동용 놀이성 척도의 개발 및 예비 타당화

본 연구에서는 초등학교 아동을 대상으로 놀이성을 측정할 수 있는 척도를 개발하고, 척도의 요인구조와 신뢰도 및 타당도를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 선행 연구들의 놀이성에 대한 개념적 정의를 토대로 세 가지 하위 요인-사회적, 인지적, 행동적 측면-을 잠정적으로 설정하여 5점 척도로 된 51문항의 예비문항을 구성하였다. 아동용 놀이성 예비척도를 429명의 아동들에게 실시하고 요인분석한 다음 최종적으로 15문항을 선정하여 ‘아동용 놀이성 척도’를 개발하였다. 요인분석 결과, 아동용 놀이성 척도는 사회적 적극성, 유머 감각, 탐구심의 3요인 구조로 이루어져 있었다. 척도의 내적일치도와 요인별 문항총점간 상관계수, 검사-재검사 신뢰도를 살펴본 결과, 아동용 놀이성 척도는 적절한 수준의 신뢰도를 나타내었다. 또한 아동용 놀이성 척도는 Barnett의 놀이성 검사 및 자율성 검사와 유의미한 상관을 보여 적절한 수준의 공인타당도를 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 사회성이 좋은 아동과 그렇지 않은 아동 간에, 그리고 학습주도성이 높은 아동과 낮은 아동 간에 놀이성 점수에서 유의미한 차이가 나타나 적절한 수준의 변별타당도를 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발한 아동용 놀이성 척도는 아동의 놀이성을 측정하는 데 있어서 신뢰롭고 타당한 검사로 보여진다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 한계에 대하여 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study were to develop an instrument for the assessment of playfulness in primary school children and to verify its factor structure, reliability and validity. A preliminary items of the Playfulness Scale for Children (PSC) were generated through literature study to identify conceptual clarity and the examination of content validity. This preliminary scale was composed of 51 items with 3 subscales and administrated to 429 children. Exploratory factor analysis exhibited that the PSC was composed of 15 items with three factors: Social Positivity, Sense of Humor, and Inquisitive Mind. The PSC exhibited adequate internal consistency, item-total correlations and test-retest reliability. Significant positive relationships were found between the PSC and Barnett's Children's Playfulness Scale(CPS), and between the PSC and the Autonomy Test, thereby demonstrating the construct validity of the PSC. Significant differences on the PSC were found among high and low social skills groups and high and low self-directed learning readiness groups, thereby demonstrating the discriminant validity of the PSC. Finally, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
