본 연구는 성격강점이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향에서 교우관계와 교사관계의 매개효과에 대해 살펴본 것이다. 이를 위해 서울시에 소재한 고등학교 5개교의 청소년 333명을 대상으로 성격강점, 교우관계, 교사관계, 학습몰입 척도를 조사하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등학생의 성격강점과 교우관계, 교사관계, 학습몰입의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 모든 변인이 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 고등학생의 성격강점의 6개의 하위덕목 중 인간애가 학습몰입에 미치는 영향에서 교우관계는 완전매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 고등학생의 성격강점의 6개의 하위덕목 중 지혜와 지식, 용기, 정의, 절제, 초월성이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향에서 교우관계는 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 고등학생의 성격강점이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향에서 교사관계는 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 하여 이 연구의 시사점과 제한점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study aimed to (a) investigate the effects of character strengths on learning flow in high school students and (b) examine the mediating effects of the students’ relationships with peers and teachers. A total of 333 high school students in five high schools located in Seoul participated in the study. Questionnaires including learning flow, character strengths, relationships with peers, and relationships with teachers were used. Findings of this study were as follows: First, positive correlations were found among the variables: character strengths, relationships with peers relationships with teachers, and learning flow. Secondly, character strengths (i.e., human love) had direct mediating effects on the path by which relationships with peers affected learning flow, while character strengths(i.e., wisdom and knowledge, courage, justice, temperance, and transcendency) had partial mediating effects on the path by which relationships with peers affected learning flow. Finally, relationships with teachers had a partial (indirect) mediating effect on the influence of character strengths on learning flow. Implication and suggestions for future research are discussed.
