교육과 이주에 대한 학부모의 인식 : 대구경북 학부모 면담 분석

Abstract

This study was conducted by interviewing 74 parents in Daegu and Gyeongbuk about their perceptions of education and migration. The purpose of this study was to analyze regional differences about parents' perception of education and migration. The region was divided into four different areas: the special educational region of Suseong-gu, the non-Suseong-gu region, cities near Daegu, and Gyeongbuk. The results are as follows. First, the answer to a question concerning the most important parts of education in school was personality and knowledge education. In terms of numbers, most interviewees answered that personality education is more important than knowledge education. However, when parents were asked where their children's schools should focus, they said that the most important parts of education are preparing for college admission and systematic education rather than personality education. Second, the answer to a question concerning the most important factors to be considered if they were going to move was their children's educational environment. This implied that the interviewees wanted to move to a downtown area or a big city. Third, the majority of interviewees answered that they were willing to move or endure being separated from their families, while the remaining interviewees indicated that they might also be willing to register a false address for the sake of their children's education. The interviewees considered moving and separation from family to be necessary for education, as a sort of investment in their children's education, and believed that an irrational educational system created the problem of false address registration. Only 20 interviewees out of 74 interviewees did not want to move, be separated from their families, or register a false address. However, 54 interviewees thought all of this these actions would positively influence their children's education. This result showed that most interviewees would consider moving, being separated from their families, or registering false addresses.
