이 논문은 삶의 이야기와 기타 개인적인 전기(傳記)적 이야기들을 무형유산의 중요한 표현물로 간주해야 한다는 주장을 펼친다. 그리고 ‘문화유산기관’, 즉 문화유산 보호 및 안전에 관련된 박물관, 도서관, 기록관및 기타 유사 기관들의 중요한 점들을 살펴본다. 첫째, 문화유산 기관들이 특별한 종류의 유산을 보호하기 위해 직시해야 할 주요 과제를 살펴본다. 둘째, 문화유산계에 새로운 정보통신기술(ICT)이 도입됨으로써야기되는 주요 문제들을 살펴본다. 특히 정보통신기술 발전이 자서전을 담당하는 문화유산 기관들에게 미치는 영향을 살펴본다.
Abstract
This paper arguesthat life stories and other personal biographical accounts should be considered as significant manifestations of the intangible cultural heritage. It addresses the consequences for ‘memory institutions’, i.e. museums, libraries, archives and similar bodies, in relation to the protection and safeguarding of this heritage. First, the main challenges that these institutions have to face in order to protect this special kind of heritage are considered. Second, there is consideration of the main changes caused by the introduction of new information communication technologies (ICTs) into the cultural heritage world, and specifically, the effect of ICT developments on the institutions responsible for autobiographical memoirs are examined.
