청소년 비자살적 자해상담 경험에 대한 현상학 연구: 상담자의 어려움과 대처방안을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 청소년 비자살적 자해 상담에 참여한 상담자의 어려움과 대처방안을 심층적으로 탐색하고자 수행하였다. 연구방법으로 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 청소년 비자살적 자해 상담에 참여한 10명의 상담자를 대상으로 심층면담 및 자료분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 2개의 주제, 9개 상위범주, 21개의 하위범주, 54개의 의미 단위를 도출하였다. 청소년 비자살적 자해 상담에서 상담자가 경험하는 어려움은 자해 외에 대처방법 찾기 어려움, 상담자의 역량 부족 및 소진, 부모 관리에서의 어려움, 자해관리자를 위한 교육 및 지원체계 부족, 비밀보장 준수에서의 어려움의 5가지 상위범주로 확인되었다. 이에 대한 대처방안은 사례 검토 및 동료 혹은 전문가의 도움, 개입자로서의 역량 강화, 심리적 소진 관리, 비밀보장 갈등상황에서 대처방안의 4가지 상위범주로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과를 기초하여 논의와 시사점을 제언하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to gain an in-depth understanding of the difficulties and coping strategies of professional counselors who worked with adolescents in crisis counselling for non-suicidal self-injury. We conducted in-depth interviews with 10 counselors and analyzed the interviews using Giorgi's phenomenological approach. Our analysis resulted in, 54 meaning units, 21 subcategories, 9 top categories and two topics. Specifically, five top categories emerged on the difficulties that counselors experienced as follow: difficulties in helping adolescents find coping strategies besides self-injury, lack of counselor' competence and experience of burnout, difficulties in getting parental involvement, lack of education and supportive resources for counselor and difficulties to keep confidentiality. Also four top categories emerged on the coping strategies to resolve the difficulties mentioned: case review and peer and supervisor' support, development of counselor competence on non-suicidal self-injury, self-care for psychological burnout and the use of coping strategies in situations involving confidentiality. Discussions and suggestions for future research are addressed.
