청소년회복지원시설 이용 청소년이 경험하는 위탁부모 관계에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 청소년이 소년보호 1호처분 후 청소년회복지원시설에서의 위탁부모 경험이 어떠한지를 파악하여 위탁부모의 역할과 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 목적표집과 눈덩이표집을 사용하여 연구참여자를 표집하였다. 연구참여자는 청소년회복지원시설에서 4개월 이상 거주하여 만기퇴소 가능성이 있거나 만기퇴소 한 15~22세 청소년 8명이다. 위탁부모와 관계경험에 대한 심층면접방법을 활용하여 해석적 연구를 수행하여 위탁부모와의 관계경험을 통한 청소년들의 교정 및 회복, 적응을 분석하여 현상의 본질적 구조를 파악하여 기술하였다. 분석결과 총 46개의 개념과 18개의 소분류, 7개의 중분류로 나누어졌으며 위탁부모를 ‘만나기 전’, ‘만남’과 ‘만난 후’로 구분되었다. 위탁부모를 만나기 전은 청소년이 원부모를 통해 건강한 부모의 역할을 제공받는 것에 어려움이 있었음을 확인할 수 있었고 환경적 박탈을 견디기 위해 부적응적인 적응방식을 보이며 문제행동을 하고 있었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 청소년들이 위탁부모와 관계경험을 통해 건강한 부모역할을 제공받음으로써 홀로서기를 할 수 있는 성숙한 자아를 형성하는 것의 시작점이 되었다. 위탁부모를 만난 후는 청소년이 위탁부모로부터 따뜻한 보살핌과 안정적 애착을 경험함으로써 위탁부모 관계경험이 청소년에게 지지체계로 작용한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 청소년들은 위탁부모와의 관계경험을 통해 자신과 타인, 사회에 대한 긍정적인 표상을 형성하고 위탁부모로부터 심리적 독립을 연습하면서 미래에 대한 희망과 미래를 위한 노력을 하게 하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 기반하여 논의하고 후속연구를 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study is intended to explore the experiences of adolescents with foster parents in youth recovery support facilities under the 1st juvenile protective disposition and the role of foster parents and what having foster parents means to those adolescents For this, participants were recruited using snowball and purposive sampling methods. In-depth interviews were conducted with a total of eight adolescents between the ages of 15 to 22 who were likely to leave youth recovery support facilities at maturity or who aged out of the facilities. Data analysis resulted in a total of 46 concepts, 18 sub-classes, and 7 medium classes into three groups: before, during, and after living with foster parents. Before living with foster parents, participants recalled that they had not experienced healthy parenting from their biological parents, tended to adapt to maladaptation to deal with environmental deprivation, and misbehaved. Meeting with foster parents meant for participants to be a starting point where they could experience healthy parenting and relationships and develop into a mature adult able to stand on their own. Living with foster parents and resulting experiences, particularly having healthy relationships with foster parents, served as a support system for participants as they experienced warm care and stable attachment from their foster parents. Healthy relationships with foster parents helped participants to form positive images of themselves, others, and society, have hope for the future, and make efforts for betterfuture bypracticing psychological independence from foster parents. Implications and limitations of this study were suggested.
