1920년대 중반 일본 유학생활 중 나월환은 수감 중인 朴烈을 면회하거나, 아나키즘에 호의적인 한인유학생들과의 교유를 통해 아나키즘에 대한 공감대를 넓혀 갔다. 1930년을 전후하여 중국으로 건너가 中國中央陸軍軍官學校 8기생으로 입교하였고, 南華韓人靑年聯盟 활동에도 참여하였다. 하지만 그의 세계관이나 독립운동의 근간을 이룬 가치는 반일 민족주의로 판명된다. 그가 주도한 전지공작대 결성의 의의나 임무·활동목표 등에서도 아나키즘 조직이나 운동단체로서의 특징은 발견되지 않는다. 또 그가 중국중앙육군군관학교에 입학한 사실은 실천적이고 적극적인 행동양식의 인물임을 알려준다. 조선의용대원 金學鐵의 눈에 그가 히틀러를 존경했고, 키케로와 같은 웅변가의 모습으로 비친 사실도 같은 맥락에서 이해된다. 또 다소 독선적이고 영웅주의적인 면모의 리더십으로 인해 초래된 그의 죽음도 이해될 수 있을 듯싶다. 아나키스트로서 보다는 민족주의자로서의 ‘自己槪念’이 강한 그였기에, 아나키즘을 선호·지향하는 여타 대원들과의 사이에서 발생한 갈등의 연장선상에서 광복군 합류를 결정했던 것이고, 이에 반발한 대원들에 의해 살해되기에 이른 것으로 정리될 수 있을 것이다. 나월환이 아나키즘을 대하는 이 같은 모습은 항일투쟁기 한인 아나키즘운동의 일면을 보여준다고 하겠다. 즉 ‘항일’과 ‘독립’이라는 보편적인 과제 달성을 위한 하나의 방략 내지 방편으로서 아나키즘을 수용하고 이해한 측면이 강하였다고 하겠다. 그리고 나월환의 피살은 ‘항일’이라는 가치 아래 모인 젊은 독립운동가들의 自由個性과 길들여지지 않은 氣槪를 원동력으로 삼았던 광복군 조직 내에 숨겨져 있던 인간적 갈등, 현실과 이상 사이에 존재했던 괴리를 드러낸 사건이기도 했다. 아울러 나월환의 죽음은 한국광복군·조선의용대와 더불어 제2차 세계대전기 중국대륙을 무대로 활동한 한인무력의 한 축을 형성했던 아나키즘 무력이 붕괴되고, 광복군과 조선의용대가 연대 상대로 평가했던 한국청년전지공작대의 독자적인 존재감을 소멸시켜 버리는 계기가 되었다는 점에서 그 의미가 적지 않다고 할 것이다.
Abstract
In the mid of 1920, Na-Wolhwan formed a consensus about the anarchism through visiting Park Yeol in prison and communicating with Korean students studying abroad. Before and after of 1930 he crossed into China and entered the Chinese Central Military Academy as eighth, and participated in South China Korean Youngman’s League. However, the Na’s value was the anti-Japanese nationalism, which formed the backbone of his view of the world and independent movement. We could not find the characters as anarchistic group or movement organization in the meaning and assignment or activity target of organization of battlefield mission corps leaded by Na. The fact that he entered the Chinese Central Military Academy indicated that he was the practical and active person. Moreover, the fact that he respected Hitler in the eyes of Kim-Hakcheol, and displayed the appearance of orator like Cicero could be understood in the same vein. And his death bought about by his self-righteous and heroic leadership could be also understand in the same context. As he had the self concept as a nationalist than an anarchist, he decided to participated in the Independence Army in line with the conflict with members who supported anarchism, and ultimately he was killed by his colleagues. Na’s treatment for anarchism reflected the one side of anarchistic movement during the time of anti-Japanese struggle. And Na’s murder case revealed the gap between ideal and reality and personality conflict between the self-individuality of young fighter for independence who gathered under the value of ‘anti-Japan’ and members of Independence Army who had the untamed spirit as driving force. Also, Na’s death had the significant meaning in the terms of collapse of anarchistic struggle which form an axis of Korean struggles involving the Independent Army and Korean Volunteers Corps developed in China during the World War Ⅱ, and extinction of distinct existence of Korean Youths Battlefield Mission Corps which was appreciated as solidarity object by Independent Army and Korean Volunteers Corps, as well as the opportunity of disappearing the originality of anarchism.
