「중국혁명사략」저자 규명 및 창작 의의 연구

Abstract

A close examination of the author of “A short history of Chinese Revolution” and study on a meaning of its creation Ju-Hyeon Kim “A short history of Chinese Revolution” was published by “Kwonupsinmun” (a newspaper) unsigned from May, 1912 till the 27th of October, 1912. The paper was published in Vladivostok during the period of Japanese colonial rule and the chief editior of the paper was Chae-Ho Shin. As there aren't 1 - 3 issues now, it is not known from when the article was published serially, however, it seems that it was published from the first issue (May 5th, 1912) or the second issue (May 12th, 1912). The article was serially published for a long time as compared with the other articles and particularly interests us in a sense that it described the fact of Chinese revolution. In this article I tried to trace to its author and the meaning of its creation. Chae-Ho Shin was interested in the history of the world and has given a lecture. It seems that he was interested in the history of China and wrote the history of Chinese Revolution based on the various kinds of the books and the mass media. His writing was a part of the enlightenment activity of mass media and he expected the outbreak of revolution in Korea like in China. His writing a history of Chinese Revolution is very fresh and “A short history of Chinese Revolution” showed us a case of his study on foreign history. It would be an important material which makes us understand the range and depth of his interest on history.
