무대 공간은 건축적인 물리적 공간과 극의 이미지를 위한 미적 공간으로 나눠지는데 본 연구에서는 미적 공간을 중심으로 연구 한다. 무대 공간은 예술적 특성을 시각적으로 표현하여 극의 이미지를 제시한다. 뮤지컬 고유의 내용을 살리면서 유동하는 조형물에 의해 다양한 공간을 형성하는 뮤지컬 무대의 가변적 공간 구성연출에서 공간의 가변성은 중요한 표현적 특성으로 나타난다. 공간의 기능을 고정시키지 않고, 필요나 시간의 변화에 의해 따른 의도와 계획을 통해 공간의 형태와 용도를 결정하게 하는 것으로 개방성, 유동성, 다의성의 특성을 지닌다. 이는 무대 구성요소의 확장, 혼합, 연결, 이동, 삽입, 중첩, 결합, 왜곡의 표현을 통해서 연출되며, 공간의 시각적, 심미적 특징과 함께 다기능성을 부여한다. 무대 구성요소는 다양한 형태와 의미로 무대 위에 나타날 수 있는 것과 그에 따라 다양한 가변적 무대 공간이 될 수 있다는 것을 연구하였다.
Abstract
Stage space can be divided into physical space of architecture and artistic space for images of play and this study focuses on the artistic space. Stage space presents the images of play with the visual expression of artistic characteristics. The variableness of space in the presentation of variable space formation on a musical stage by mobile forms, enlivening the contents peculiar to the musical is presented as an important expressive characteristic. It determines the form and use of space through intent and plan by need or change in time, not fixing the function of space, which has characteristics like openness, flexibility and ambiguity in it. This is directed through the expressions of expansion, mixture, connection, movement, insertion, reiteration, combination and distortion of components and gives it multi-functionality along with the temporary, aesthetic characteristics of the space. I have studied that the components of stage can be shown on the stage as various shapes and meanings and accordingly it can be various variable stage spaces.
