Abstract

(Background and Purpose) Recently, violent crimes against women living alone have been raised as a social problem, and violent crimes occur when violence that has been suppressed through social regulations is expressed. As the number of violent crimes against women increased, the fear and anxiety of women increased, and women wanted psychological stability through attribution to certain areas. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the causes and phenomena of violent crimes in modern society to find ways to relieve women's anxiety and to suggest safe housing space against violent crimes. (Method) This study attempts to theoretically examine the basis of human violence, which is the cause of violent crime, based on evolutionary psychology and investigates the actual situation of crime in modern society. The data were analyzed by statistical data to find out what the female single-person households are anxious and necessary due to the modern social crime phenomenon. In order to derive strategic elements of crime prevention environment design (CPTED) applied to this study, the concept and characteristics of shared housing and public space were analyzed, and domestic and foreign women shared housing were selected as cases, and analysis was performed using the designed analysis frame. (Results) The limitation of crime prevention was found in strengthening the domain nature, which is the main principle of CPTED, and the strengthening of the domain through the public sensitivity inherent in humans is proposed. The women's complex residential space is an overlapping space distributed between the primary and secondary areas, and needs to be redefined in the area, and needs privacy and safety, and residential forms where individuals and communities can coexist. As a result of case analysis, the number of shared houses for women is increasing, and it was possible to introduce the residential factors of public housing for one woman, such as privacy, safety, public space, proper housing cost, and public housing with a good surrounding environment. (Conclusions) The crime prevention method through mechanical monitoring proposed in the existing strengthening of territoriality gives a sense of attribution by providing complex residential space to women who do not feel safe. The complex residential space for women in this study is not just a residential purpose but a residential form in which community spaces are combined to lead to women's public sentiment. If it is provided to women who have lived alone and amplified their fear of crime, the public sentiment of women living together will form and naturally build a defense space. Through the clear area of the women's complex residential space, psychological stability is obtained and anxiety about crime is also resolved.
