Abstract

(Background and Purpose) To improve the quality of the spatial design of administrative service facilities, it is essential to present a design post-evaluation and improvement plan based on user satisfaction with open space creation based on manuals. This can be considered an important social task, leading to an improvement in the use environments of various users and workplace users. Therefore, this study aims to derive the characteristics of open space design by deriving evaluation criteria for the open space design characteristics of public administrative work facilities and presenting effective improvement directions through a case analysis. (Method) First, the design trends and characteristics of administrative complex facilities are summarized through a theoretical review and analysis of existing research, and the indicators for evaluating the spatial design of administrative service facilities are summarized. Second, the spatial design characteristics and improvement points are summarized through a case analysis of representative administrative complex service facilities that have recently become an issue. Third, to evaluate user satisfaction with the open design of public administrative service facilities and derive improvement directions, a survey is conducted on 30 administrative managers who are users of the Uijeongbu City Hall space remodeling target site. Based on the results, the characteristics of the open-space design and improvement directions are summarized. Fourth, the research results are summarized to suggest the characteristics of the spatial design and improvement directions for future complex administrative work facilities. (Results) The above results show that the overall spatial image was improved after space improvement, and usability was improved, but the improved image differed for each evaluation item. There was a difference in the comfort of the space according to gender, and it was found that the vitality item improved attachment and had an important influence on a positive image. Thus, it was found that a close review of the design items was necessary when considering user satisfaction with space improvement. (Conclusions) Through this, it can be said that a space design that can create a space as a basis for residents to pursue improvement in their quality of life through various exchanges and cooperation in public spaces is required. In particular, it is necessary to strengthen communication in important spaces and develop a design that can accommodate them. Next, for the open design of public administrative work facilities, a space plan that creates a space for civic exchange and cooperation in an accessible space is necessary, and space arrangement and composition should be established considering user characteristics, color, and lighting for differentiated design.
