Abstract

(Background and Purpose) Sustainable design aims to conserve resources, minimize waste, and protect the ecosystem and refers to an approach that comprehensively considers environmental, social, and economic aspects. In particular, the use of reusable resources is emerging by the principle of designing spaces with minimal use of materials and energy. This suggests the need to actively introduce reuse in the field of architecture and design at a time when cases of recycling used materials and transforming them into innovative spaces are spreading. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to share the design direction of the reuse online platform by developing the previously developed web prototype. The significance of this study is to share the composition and design on the web through the first implementation stage of the previously developed prototype and to seek a direction to promote the utilization of reused resources. (Method) This study focuses on reusable materials among the materials required in architecture and spatial design. To this end, the background and purpose of the development and implementation of the previously developed web prototype are explained, and the design process and development stages are presented. In addition, the methodology of the research is to share images and links on the web to promote the use of reused materials and to expand the range of information that users can access. (Results) In this study, the process of implementing a 'https://refactory.kr/' was divided into the following stages: requirements collection and analysis, system specification configuration, database design, website implementation, testing, and deployment. Using geolocation and map API (Application Programming Interface), we designed and implemented a material information site that integrates a user-friendly location map, a detailed information page for raw materials, and a social media platform sharing function. As an implementation method, the latest technology frameworks based on open source such as Linux operating system, Apache web server, PHP dynamic web programming language, and MariaDB database were introduced to standardize the source code and visualize the user's UI in line with the latest trends. This approach is expected to increase access to reused resources and increase user engagement. (Conclusions) In order to build a sustainable business model for the implemented platform, it is necessary to explore new business models and profit structures using reused materials. In particular, it is important to study models of cooperation between companies, governments, and non-profit organizations, as well as to study policies to promote the use of reused materials. This multifaceted approach is expected to promote the efficient use of reused resources and contribute to increasing the sustainability of the platform.
