Effects of collaborative writing on the improvement of Korean writing ability

This study is designed to focus on how the collaborative writing has an impact on the improvement of Korean as a foreign language(KFL) writing ability. In brief, the study results shows that the collaborative writing has a positive impact on the improvement of KFL writing ability of the learners with significant improvement in the contents, structure and fluency. Moreover, the collaborative writing turned out to be more effective in the improvement of low-level learners in writing. The collaborative writing also helps the learners to internalize writing strategies and enhance the overall communicative writing ability including sociolinguistic ability, discourse ability and grammatical ability. In conclusion, this study suggests the advantages and disadvantages of the collaborative writing and the effective application methods in the collaborative writing.
