초록

The Time Machine, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and The War of the Worlds are H. G. Wells' fictional presentations of posthuman. Wells was interested in looking at the next step of humanity, and his chief concern was the unlawful use of technology and the conflicts it created. To an extent, the future forms of humans he described could be one of the many post-evolution forms that posthumans can take. Wells presents possible features of future human beings in each of the novels. The prey and predator Elois and Morlocks from The Time Machine, the vivisected chimeras named the Beast-folk from The Island of Dr. Moreau, and the technology-dependent Martians from The War of the Worlds. By analyzing H. G. Wells' novels, it is anticipated that these examples of post-evolved or posthuman species provide guidance on how to prepare for the future in the age of posthumanity.
