Abstract

Globally speaking, two characteristics define whether a specific civilization can be accounted as a model that influences the whole human history: regional and universal. Ever since the birth of Confucianism, it has become a part of the mainstream culture and a school about beliefs. The developing history of Confucianism is the very embodiment of “harmony” about “Harmony in Diversity”. “Diversity” implies the spacial difference in spreading Confucianism. The Temple of Confucius is the place which witnessed the spread of Confucianism in both time and space; it also presents the whole developing history of Confucianism. So the Temple of Confucius is a symbol of “Harmony in Diversity” on Chinese culture, as well as an ideal platform for eastern and western cultural communication.
