본 연구에서는 대학생의 창의성 향상에 다문화 경험의 역할을 살펴보기 위하여 다문화경험에 따른 창의성의 차이를 살펴보는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 대학평가의 국제화지표 30위권 이내의 대학에서 남녀공학 9개 대학을 무선으로 표집한 후, 조사 대상으로 선정된 각 대학 학생들을 전공과 성별을 고려하여 표집하였고, 회수된 989명의 응답을 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 창의성은 외국인 학생과 교류 경험이 없는 경우보다 있는 경우 높게나타났고 교수와의 상호작용이 만족스럽게 이루어짐에 따라 향상하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 창의성은 교환학생이나 해외연수 경험에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생의 창의성은 해외거주경험과 영어수준에 따라서 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 대학교육에서 창의성을 향상시키는데 다문화 경험의 역할을 고찰하고 대학의 창의적 환경 조성에 대한 시사점을 제공한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the creativity of university students according to multicultural experiences. A self-report survey was conducted with 989 valid responses from students in 9 universities. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA and multiple regression. It was revealed that creativity of students who had interaction with foreign students was higher than that of students who didn't. The satisfaction of student-faculty interaction had a positive impact on the growth of student's creativity. Second, student's creativity was different according to exchange student and study abroad experiences. Finally, student's creativity was different according to living experience in foreign country and the level of English proficiency. This study would give implications to develop creative environment to foster multicultural experiences for university student's creativity.
