본 연구는 대학생의 창의적 능력을 탐색하는데 목적을 두고, 대학생들의 성별, 학년, 전공, 창의성수업 경험 여부에 따라 창의적 능력(연속성, 요소추가, 비관습성, 주제완성)에 차이가 있는지 비교해보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적에 따라 서울 및 수도권에 위치한 5개 대학에서 전공 및 학년별로 무선 표집하여 인문/사회, 법정, 경상, 자연, 공과, 예․체능 계열 1-4학년 대학생 929(남:543 여:386)명을 대상으로 창의적 능력검사를 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 대학생의 창의적 능력에 있어 성별에 따른 차이가 나타났다. 대학생들은 연속성, 요소추가, 비관습성, 주제완성에 있어 유의한 차이를 보였고 창의적 능력 합계에서도 유의한 차가 나타났다. 대학생들의 창의적 능력은 학년별 비교에서는 요소추가 영역에서만 의미 있는 차이를 보였으며 1학년과 2, 3, 4학년 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 전공별로는 모든 창의적 능력의 하위요인에서 의미 있는 차이가 나타났다. 마지막으로 창의성 수업경험 유무에 따라 창의적 능력에 차이가 있었다. 연속성을 제외하고 요소추가, 비관습성, 주제완성에서 의미 있는 차이가 있었으며 창의적 능력 합계에서도 의미 있는 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구는 대학생의 창의적 능력을 제 변인에 따라 분석함으로써 개인의 창의성에 때한 이해를 높이고 앞으로 대학생의 창의적 능력을 신장시키기 위한 교육에 시사점을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the creative thinking ability of university students according to gender, years, academic speciality and the experience of creativity education. A questionnaire was answered by 929(male; 543, female; 386) university students in Seoul. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, ANOVA by SPSS 14.0. It was found that there was a significant difference of creative thinking ability by their gender, major and the experience of creativity education. Female students were more likely to think creatively than male students, and students in liberal arts and social science had higher creative thinking ability than students in engineering and business major. Also, students’ creative thinking ability had meaningful differences with the experience of creativity education. However, there was no significant difference in creative thinking ability according to their years except new elements addition factor. This study would give some implications to develop creativity education program for university students. In addition, limitation of this study and the direction for future research were discussed.
