「10세 미만 아동 성행동의 이해와 대처를 돕는 1:1 부모상담 프로그램」 개발 및 효과

초록

본 연구는 10세 미만 아동 성행동의 이해와 대처를 돕는 1:1 부모상담 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 연구자는 4단계 절차에 따라 프로그램을 개발하고, 성행동을 보이는 10세 미만 자녀를 둔 부모 16명을 대상으로 프로그램 효과를 살펴보았다. 총 3회기로 구성된 1:1 부모상담 프로그램은 아동 성행동 이해를 바탕으로 아동 성행동의 원인, 영향을 미치는 요인들을 파악하고, 성행동 문제 대처방법과 양육기술을 안내하여 아동의 건강한 성 발달을 지원하기 위한 내용으로구성되었다. 프로그램은 2022년 6월 20일부터 11월 31일까지 약 5개월에 걸쳐 비대면 방식으로 진행되었다. 연구 결과 아동의 성행동과 외현화, 및 내재화 행동이 유의하게 감소하였고, 부모의 성행동 대처유능감이 유의하게 향상되었다. 또한 만족도 평가 결과, 참여 부모들은 본 프로그램을 통해 아동 성행동에 대한 인식 변화와 함께 이해도가 증가하고, 적절한 대처방법을 숙지하게 되었다고 보고하였다. 연구 결과 성행동 이해와 대처를 돕는 1:1 부모상담 프로그램은 실제 성행동을 보이는 아동의 부모들이 자녀의 성행동을 적절히 이해하고 대처할 수 있도록 도울 수 있으며, 그 결과 아동의 성행동 문제를개선하고 전반적인 적응을 향상시키는데 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and investigate the effectiveness of a 1:1 parent counseling program that helps understand and cope with sexual behavior in children under the age of 10. The researcher developed a program according to a 4-step procedure and examined the effect of the program on 16 parents with children under the age of 10 exhibiting sexual behavior. The 1:1 parent counseling program, which consisted of three sessions, identified the causes and influencing factors of child sexual behaviors based on the understanding of child sexual behavior and guided coping with sexual behavior problems and parenting skills to promote healthy sexual development of children. The program was conducted in a non-face-to-face manner over about five months, from June 20 to November 31, 2022. As a result of the study, children’s sexual behavior, externalization, and internalization behaviors were significantly reduced, and parents’ sexual behavior coping skills were significantly improved. In addition, as a result of the satisfactory evaluation, the participating parents reported that through this program, their understanding of child sexual behavior increased along with a change in their perception, and they learned how to deal with it appropriately. These results suggest that the 1:1 parent counseling program can help parents of children who exhibit sexual behaviors understand and cope with their child’s sexual behavior appropriately, prevent the child's sexual behavior problems, and contribute to improving overall adjustment.
