본 연구는 어머니의 그릿이 양육행동에 미치는 영향에서 자녀기질과 자녀가치의 이중매개효과에 대해 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 한국 영유아 교육⋅보육 패널 1차 본조사데이터(2022) 를 활용하였으며, 12개월 미만의 자녀를 둔 어머니 2,489명의 설문지 결과를 바탕으로 빈도분석, 문항 간 신뢰도 검사, 상관관계분석, SPSS Process Macro 4.2의 model 6를 적용한 이중매개효과 분석을 실시 하였다(Hayes, 2013). 연구결과, 첫째, 요인 간 상관관계가 정적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 그릿이 양육행동에 미치는 영향에서 자녀기질 및 자녀가치가 매개하여 간접영향이 유의하게 나타났다. 이는 어머니 그릿이 양육행동에 영향을 미칠 때, 자녀의 기질과 자녀가치가 매개 할 경우, 직접효과는 없어지고 이중매개로 인한 간접효과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 그릿이 양육행동에 미치는 영 향에서 자녀의 기질에 대한 이해와 자녀가치에 대한 긍정적 인식을 가질 수 있도록 양육환경의 지원과 사회적 지지가 필요함을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the dual mediating effects of child temperament and perceived child value in the relationship between maternal grit and parenting behavior. Data were drawn from the first wave of the Korean Early Childhood Panel Study (2022), comprising of responses from 2,489 mothers with children under 12 months of age. After frequency analysis, comfirming the reliability of the measure, correlation analyses and dual mediation analysis were conducted using Model 6 of the SPSS Process Macro 4.2 (Hayes, 2013). The results revealed two key findings. First, significant positive correlations were observed among the primary variables. Second, both child temperament and perceived child value significantly mediated the relationship between maternal grit and parenting behavior. Specifically, the direct effect of maternal grit on parenting behavior became non-significant when the mediators variable were included, indicating a full dual mediation effect. These findings underscore the importance of fostering mother’s understanding of their child’s, temperament and promoting positive perceptions of child value to strengthen the influence of maternal grit on parenting behavior. This highlights the need for supportive parenting environments and robust social support systems during the early stages child-rearing.
