가정폭력상담기관과 알코올치료기관남성클라이언트의 폭력행동 및 음주 특성

초록

가정폭력과 음주의 높은 동시발생율과 폭력행동 및 음주문제를 함께 가지고 있는 이중문제클라이언트를 사회복지 현장에서 흔히 볼 수 있음에도 불구하고, 이 집단에 대한 학문적 이해와 실천노력은 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 가정폭력상담기관에 의뢰되는 남성가정폭력가해자와 알코올치료기관에서 치료를 받고 있는 남성알코올중독자가 폭력 및 음주영역에 있어서 서로 얼마나 유사한 특성을 갖고 있는지 알아보았다. 그리고 가정폭력에 미치는 음주문제의 영향, 음주문제에 미치는 가정폭력의 영향, 가정폭력과 음주문제의 동시발생을 예측하는 변인을 탐색해보았다. 연구결과, 양 기관의 클라이언트는 폭력행동과 음주문제에 있어서 부분적으로 유사한 특성을 지니는 집단임이 나타났다. 즉 가정폭력기관 남성클라이언트의 84.5%는 문제음주자였고, 가정폭력기관과 알코올기관 남성클라이언트의 폭력행동에는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 위계적 회귀분석결과 인구사회학적 특성, 정신건강 특성을 통제한 상태에서 음주문제는 언어폭력에 영향을 미치는 유의미한 변인으로 나타났으나 신체폭력에는 영향력이 없었다. 또한 음주문제에 영향을 미치는 요인도 폭력유형중 언어폭력만 유의미했다. 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석결과 연령이 낮을수록, 가정폭력상담기관의 클라이언트일수록, 반사회적성격경향이 높을수록 폭력행동과 음주문제의 동시발생을 예측하고 있었다. 이러한 주요연구 결과를 기초로 사회복지 실천에의 함의가 논의되었다.

Abstract

Even though there is a high possibility of co-occurrence between family violence and drinking problem and the existence of dual-problem clients in Social Work practice, the understanding on these clients is less than expected. This study focus on the male clients in family violence agency and alcohol treatment agency and compare the characteristics of violent behaviors and drinking problems. Further, this study explore the effect of drinking problem to family violence, the effect of family violence to drinking problem and the variables that expecting co-occurrence between family violence and drinking problem. As a result of study, the clients from both agencies show the common characteristics. It shows that the 84.5% of family violence agency's male clients are problem drinkers and that there is no significant differences in violent behaviors between both agencies' male clients. As a result of hierarchial regression, under the control of demographical and mental health variables, drinking problem is significant variables to family violence and family violence still remains as a significant variable effecting to drinking problem. As a result of binominal logistic regression, it conclude that there is high possibility of co-occurrence between family violence and drinking problem in case that client is under family violence agency, that a client has much anti-social personality traits and that age is low. Based on these major findings, it discuss the implications for the Social Work practice.
